How to Create a UPI QR Code for Your Shop (Free)
Make a static UPI QR code with your UPI ID, print it safely and avoid common payment mistakes.
Key takeaways
- A static UPI QR code contains your UPI ID and name; customers pay directly from their UPI app.
- Test with a small payment before printing.
- Check payments in your bank app, not the customer's screen.
UPI changed how India pays. A clear QR code at your counter makes paying you effortless — and you can make one free in a minute.
Make the code
- Open our QR code generator and choose UPI.
- Enter your UPI ID exactly as shown in your banking or UPI app.
- Enter your shop name as payee name.
- Leave the amount blank for a counter QR; add an amount only for fixed-price items.
- Download the PNG.
The QR code is created in your browser. ToolPilot never receives your UPI ID and never handles payments — money goes straight from your customer's bank to yours.
Print and display it safely
- Print at least 8–10 cm wide and laminate it.
- Display your shop name next to the code so customers can check the payee name.
- Inspect it regularly — fraudsters sometimes paste their own QR over a shop's.
Avoid common mistakes
- Always confirm payment in your own bank app or SMS, not on the customer's phone screen.
- Use a merchant QR from your bank or a payment provider if you need reconciliation reports.
