How to use the OEE Calculator
OEE = Availability × Performance × Quality. Availability = run time ÷ planned time; Performance = (ideal cycle time × total count) ÷ run time; Quality = good count ÷ total count.
World-class OEE is often quoted around 85%, but many plants start far lower. The biggest gains usually come from reducing downtime and minor stops.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good OEE?
85% is often called world-class; 60% is common for discrete manufacturers. Track your own trend over time.
Which OEE factor should I improve first?
Whichever is lowest. Availability losses (breakdowns, changeovers) are usually the biggest and easiest to measure.
